Autumn in the Loire is often a crisp, bright time of year. The gardens at Villandry are often at their best and the welcoming log burner at La Croix is great to return to at the end of the day. We had planned a visit but today we moved our ferry booking again, original booking was in September which we moved to October and now it looks like it will be 2021 before we are allowed to travel. With Covid cases on the rise in both England 🏴 & France, 🇫🇷 quarantine and the threat of further restrictions our time at La Croix is not to be and Villandry will have to wait for 2021. We have spent some time improving our log burner at home, a new hearth, flue lined and chimney swept. Not quite the same as La Croix’s welcoming lounge but not bad for suburbia 🏘
