There are many ways of getting to ‘La Croix’ using road, ferry, air and rail.  The following lists some of the favoured routes used by ourselves but depending on where you are travelling from preferred options will differ.

P&O Ferries:  Dover to Calais (1 1/2 hour crossing) & Hull to Zeebruggee (overnight 14 hour crossing).  Driving time from Calais is approximately 5 hours and from Zeebruggee is 6 1/2 hours.  The French toll roads tend to be empty and although tolls are charged the roads are clear and relatively stress free!
DFDS Ferries:
Newhaven to Dieppe (4 hour crossing) &. Portsmouth to Le Harve (5 1/2 hour crossing or 8 hour overnight).  Driving time from Dieppe is 3 1/2 to 4 hours mainly on motorways once through Rouen; driving time from Le Harve is 4 hours.
Brittany Ferries:
Portsmouth to Caen (3 3/4 hours fast ferry or 6 hour crossing) & Portsmouth to Le Harve (overnight no frills service).  Driving time from Caen is between 2 1/2 and 3 hours and is the closest Channel port to La Croix.  The route is mainly motorway with sections that charge tolls.
